Sit quietly for a few minutes. Bring to mind a time when you were tired and weak. Remember what you could see and hear in as much detail as possible. As you do it, get in touch with the physical and emotional feelings of being tired and sad. Get deep into these feelings and hold them for 10 to 20 seconds. Then try to stand up – notice what you experience.
Once you’ve done this exercise, sit down again. This time, bring to mind a time when you were energetic and strong. Remember what you could see and hear. As you do so, get in touch with your physical and emotional feelings. Get deep into these feelings, hold them for 10 to 20 seconds and try to stand up a second time. Compare the two experiences of standing and make some notes in the box below.
